Press Release: Restoration Guru Shares Expertise At National Flood School Training Programme

The National Flood School has secured the services of acclaimed California based restoration professional Patrick J Moffett for the IICRC’s Applied Microbial Remediation Technician Course (AMRT).

Patrick, an internationally-renowned environmental and industrial hygienist specialising in water and fire restoration, will be sharing his experience with delegates on the four day course, taking place on the 10 – 13 July, at the National Flood School’s headquarters in Farnham, Surrey.

The course will equip students with the skills and knowledge to undertake mould remediation – greatly expanding their professional capacity as a restorer – with a series of lectures, demonstrations and practicals all delivering a relevant and realistic experience for students.

Elements of the course take place in the National Flood School’s unique Flood House, the only one of its type in Europe, which consists of a usable kitchen, bathroom, study, lounge and two bedrooms – creating a realistic environment for learning and development.

As part of the training delivery, a negative air chamber is also being set up, to demonstrate every stage of the remediation process.

Topics covered over the four days include mould and sewage remediation procedures, containment, microbiology basics and biocide uses. Confined space and PPE for mould and sewage remediation are also covered, along with sampling and how the remediation affects the verification samples.

The course fee is £795 plus VAT per person. Due to the hands-on nature of the training, places are limited.

Chris Netherton, managing director of the National Flood School, said: “We are delighted Patrick is able to come to the UK and share his considerable expertise with our students.

“The subject of mould is becoming more important to the restorer, with water damage claims often providing suitable conditions for mould growth.

“Patrick’s knowledge and understanding, combined with the experience and technical ability of National Flood School trainers, offers those taking part in the training the opportunity to grow their business significantly, whatever the economic climate.”

The National Flood School runs a number of IICRC courses.
